Hellloo...<br />
<br />
Rupa here this THURSDAY, with a video tutorial.<br />
<br />
Today I am going to be showing you lot of things that can done with the Cadence Textile sprays.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBXsMQ79tv2P2sjHb5qKRVwNHcSz5zQA11ca0QbYWy5IWTov_VWQkHkXH-lomMyfqkOdvhriq54fQK2U_rzmKpKeCDUTnBy6_hG5DS6LPgN8wZQ_OZrPxnA0jBQ-Fsa97w7wSvqcpBHfwj/s1600/1-IMG_20180910_171644.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="706" data-original-width="800" height="564" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBXsMQ79tv2P2sjHb5qKRVwNHcSz5zQA11ca0QbYWy5IWTov_VWQkHkXH-lomMyfqkOdvhriq54fQK2U_rzmKpKeCDUTnBy6_hG5DS6LPgN8wZQ_OZrPxnA0jBQ-Fsa97w7wSvqcpBHfwj/s640/1-IMG_20180910_171644.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
Firstly, these sprays come in a range of colors.<br />
They can be used easily along with stencils or free hand.<br />
They are permanent and are washable.<br />
Iron on reverse of fabric when dry to seal the colors.<br />
Mild hand wash is only recommended.<br />
<br />
Here is what all I have created with the sprays.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIoa4j1DYnRw78uxeaNEHdwdykuEdBdrjAepyo6bP-ItNF9mUFahAUSgtMB44ZLgPJb1kgtTmqcx8g9r7xFKh__3xECucjnz_6903xKrR4Y0dBtDWAvfPjeWJwxlyevd7oteEOY5caUf6p/s1600/2-IMG_20180910_171748.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="572" data-original-width="800" height="456" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIoa4j1DYnRw78uxeaNEHdwdykuEdBdrjAepyo6bP-ItNF9mUFahAUSgtMB44ZLgPJb1kgtTmqcx8g9r7xFKh__3xECucjnz_6903xKrR4Y0dBtDWAvfPjeWJwxlyevd7oteEOY5caUf6p/s640/2-IMG_20180910_171748.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />

Hellooooo...<br />
Am back after a 2 month vacation...yes, it's been long and I couldn't wait to start off!<br />
A new month and a new challenge at<a href="https://rheddscreativespirit.blogspot.com/"> Rhedd's Creative Spirit.</a>..it's always "Anything Goes, Mixed media or altered art"!<br />
Now we have new members in the team and there's lots of inspiration there, so visit the blog and play along!<br />
This vacation saw me using my adult coloring book and I was skeptical to start coloring as I was not sure what I would do with the colored pages! Of course it was such a de stresser to color them, but what after that was a question!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhd1SQg4hzmZkDE0KW3Y6BMw1lMC3-vxoQUjukqPbmSQHfbKRbg53MoExzz8xiYD0PaP66C-d9KCmMBHsvmrblBYhJJNL6sJklC2TIXmUokw9k1r3iCPThVgvfaSVP5Lycw5ogs3JU5CIVy/s1600/5-IMG_20180530_104731.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="677" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhd1SQg4hzmZkDE0KW3Y6BMw1lMC3-vxoQUjukqPbmSQHfbKRbg53MoExzz8xiYD0PaP66C-d9KCmMBHsvmrblBYhJJNL6sJklC2TIXmUokw9k1r3iCPThVgvfaSVP5Lycw5ogs3JU5CIVy/s640/5-IMG_20180530_104731.jpg" width="540" /></a><br />
<br />
Here is what I decided to so with one of the colored pages from the book! I had used Inktense blocks to colors them and it was quite vibrant. I also had blank piece of wood lying in my studio and here sparked the idea!<br />
I took a laser print out of the colored page . The wood base was given a coat of chalk paint and then I applied the crackle medium few areas.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-26GPP7eSmHZqxFL8O7vx-JnZDKuvqnE0Ifc72_iLSX1tAFbOO6pGju9No_2TSFvNvi6dCx-y1ziacpeh2VPwdw8kA4hFRVJZLXyXMb0c9qt95xAcuRHyzkCrd-qvJhlgeqMhKE01wm-S/s1600/2-IMG_20180530_104350.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="649" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-26GPP7eSmHZqxFL8O7vx-JnZDKuvqnE0Ifc72_iLSX1tAFbOO6pGju9No_2TSFvNvi6dCx-y1ziacpeh2VPwdw8kA4hFRVJZLXyXMb0c9qt95xAcuRHyzkCrd-qvJhlgeqMhKE01wm-S/s640/2-IMG_20180530_104350.jpg" width="518" /></a><br />
<br />
Once this was dry, I applied the top coat .<br />
The owl was cut to shape and I used gel medium to adhere it face down on the base.<br />
An overnight wait and then I started working on the image transfer. Rubbing the paper off and here is what the out come is!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOshyphenhyphengDiEzO2wS6qIyqHPhXyuNhPuwxxWSWdv8do6woj6Oe6W1jhzAxiPv15uxNYgsytsLox2WUgQUgqZRcpxdH8Rt801YFHYsJ8hEuJifmWeXP2Gm-z40rJ8O3TznOu0nqCX3MxamPUbA/s1600/1-IMG_20180530_104334.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="664" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOshyphenhyphengDiEzO2wS6qIyqHPhXyuNhPuwxxWSWdv8do6woj6Oe6W1jhzAxiPv15uxNYgsytsLox2WUgQUgqZRcpxdH8Rt801YFHYsJ8hEuJifmWeXP2Gm-z40rJ8O3TznOu0nqCX3MxamPUbA/s640/1-IMG_20180530_104334.jpg" width="530" /></a><br />
<br />
I also fixed a piece of dark stained wood at the bottom with some "C" hooks.<br />
Now this serves as a key holder...I love how a page from the coloring book now stands permanent on this block of wood!<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIiB2UvUtNi2Xvx7P39pv_sacKVegki0vBsJk2sC35EC3lvQY8qfRv9Zt5aKz8PZ2e95X3eF3duFfp003v_7HUBUYnjw-l8sH0yE1J4jJCWwCcud_7EO_yWepfdjUS5ZgzqDq40e5jGNpq/s1600/4-IMG_20180530_104601.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIiB2UvUtNi2Xvx7P39pv_sacKVegki0vBsJk2sC35EC3lvQY8qfRv9Zt5aKz8PZ2e95X3eF3duFfp003v_7HUBUYnjw-l8sH0yE1J4jJCWwCcud_7EO_yWepfdjUS5ZgzqDq40e5jGNpq/s640/4-IMG_20180530_104601.jpg" width="480" /></a><br />
I am quite excited that the colored page has more value now! What do you think...waiting to hear from you!<br />

Hello Crafters,</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
A warm welcome to all of you. I love nature inspired challenges and this time for the challenge at <a href="https://rheddscreativespirit.blogspot.in/">Rhedd's Creative Spirit, </a>I have one that screams nature!<br />
The theme at Rhedd's is always Mixed media or altered art and here I am with another altered chocolate box!<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGCLiE6POAZNj91xTXqPFr7YWU4TXXDyVg4ZBhZEOHhFPGpF0kCmxkdKdQM7OKv8i2iUtgofi_EkWnMy_XS4RsyX7pr9X1MKjEH_QKib0WJGF0wV6AnqErKT0qm31wFVvAizOW3y7VcQc/s1600/1-DSC03886.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="174" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGCLiE6POAZNj91xTXqPFr7YWU4TXXDyVg4ZBhZEOHhFPGpF0kCmxkdKdQM7OKv8i2iUtgofi_EkWnMy_XS4RsyX7pr9X1MKjEH_QKib0WJGF0wV6AnqErKT0qm31wFVvAizOW3y7VcQc/s1600/1-DSC03886.JPG" width="320" /></a><br />
<br />
Textures and techniques is something I love to work with and here's is what happened after my experiments!<br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
I am not getting into the details of the making, let’s just jump start… READY TO WALK THE WOODS with me??<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEij2nIDCci5envYJdITNTGAMQBr88tKQWB1XFzZm5Fcjh6olu7_o2cF_N__nUFAGdqimzCLE3VU_eSddq9RoUyl66C0FWMnp22VGXAyhKA_fHsgAHmRwd2ZUCBeTxx4Vn0cIQL6Qn-PX4A/s1600/1-DSC03923.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEij2nIDCci5envYJdITNTGAMQBr88tKQWB1XFzZm5Fcjh6olu7_o2cF_N__nUFAGdqimzCLE3VU_eSddq9RoUyl66C0FWMnp22VGXAyhKA_fHsgAHmRwd2ZUCBeTxx4Vn0cIQL6Qn-PX4A/s640/1-DSC03923.JPG" width="347" /></a></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Here we go…<br />
<div>
Firstly, created the bark texture on the wood with masking tape and homemade texture paste. The impatient wait over night was fruitful..lots of texture, cracks, grooves appeared! I gave it the wood color with acrylics.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Once happy, went hunting for the pic.I found this vintage pic of these girls and thought would be the perfect fit for the woods!<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMuh8icGHj5v_VMuxM_oOSOO9QRroKtuLqQuyG1F_zYJftuP4rLvf2HjtHyKJAi_BTzPobDcy0l7Uf0KkQEzKEg8ZfZCX08ZnUN0HnK1NGlhxBpidH9YkwSeJY_XgrNTZDosy0gRW94ls/s1600/10-DSC03918.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMuh8icGHj5v_VMuxM_oOSOO9QRroKtuLqQuyG1F_zYJftuP4rLvf2HjtHyKJAi_BTzPobDcy0l7Uf0KkQEzKEg8ZfZCX08ZnUN0HnK1NGlhxBpidH9YkwSeJY_XgrNTZDosy0gRW94ls/s640/10-DSC03918.JPG" width="499" /></a><br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
I used matt gel to embed the pic into the wood bark and started to work on the embellishment.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
The lovely vintage butterfly is from the mariposa paper pack, I fuzzy cut it and applied Rock candy, Distress crackle paint and waiting for the magic cracks to appear!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1jKOoNX6-6utCCb8WxYmEzzrPEGKAS1IX9hN9it56mp-Miz6FLau1TRJZ_q-o-QTXbWTreHq8NYF3gYfm0z4z9b496wxOwuIGpQsAxjeZnjFfKecdOR3rJr4uq5LEfhZj2Ow7luiRAbo/s1600/07-DSC03914.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="536" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1jKOoNX6-6utCCb8WxYmEzzrPEGKAS1IX9hN9it56mp-Miz6FLau1TRJZ_q-o-QTXbWTreHq8NYF3gYfm0z4z9b496wxOwuIGpQsAxjeZnjFfKecdOR3rJr4uq5LEfhZj2Ow7luiRAbo/s640/07-DSC03914.JPG" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
It did…and I rubbed vintage photo into the cracks and it just aged beautifully…love it!</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

I have an upcycled project for you. I have worked an empty watch box this time combining techniques of faux palette, decoupage and faux leather...ALL IN ONE!!!<br />
<br />
Here is what I have recycled<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzbaCtb1u6tfhPr8hvoHhOtqr5NvSI3CwrhfQULO54_9A4yJbhkUN3WRzoTrLu90NgZZnLQ22IyCyELpfK41TndA-SN_G0dQkaFXVVxOKqx-znu5zYrop-Rf8Coagq7-rv1sgqzUutOw1Y/s1600/1-IMG_20180210_105803.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="790" data-original-width="800" height="316" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzbaCtb1u6tfhPr8hvoHhOtqr5NvSI3CwrhfQULO54_9A4yJbhkUN3WRzoTrLu90NgZZnLQ22IyCyELpfK41TndA-SN_G0dQkaFXVVxOKqx-znu5zYrop-Rf8Coagq7-rv1sgqzUutOw1Y/s320/1-IMG_20180210_105803.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I started off by first coating it with gesso.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYvavqUtr7f7qvFwBaZZkevnChhjnekQVmiY5D1Zd4F3ixNklc8cM_t8pzI3sC12RfIg6VIAUy7YD3k2DH16eWZB9YGAfe6uGhhHVbDSKAD4NJ3w2WQ-n6kgUiJqHszUbnUy1e6tSh3DfQ/s1600/2-IMG_20180210_111536.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="614" data-original-width="800" height="245" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYvavqUtr7f7qvFwBaZZkevnChhjnekQVmiY5D1Zd4F3ixNklc8cM_t8pzI3sC12RfIg6VIAUy7YD3k2DH16eWZB9YGAfe6uGhhHVbDSKAD4NJ3w2WQ-n6kgUiJqHszUbnUy1e6tSh3DfQ/s320/2-IMG_20180210_111536.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Then comes the play with Chalk paints to give the faux palette look!<br />
I love the rustic, vintage look!!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2A5p85Q6SJCdxt3RwSMEABXSQ5PItaajqHwbrFtFfNs-c0C1kw89_rdNd-WJva2sHLOpaZqnofjEG4Igr_YZR1Yr4Dkx502QhDaicjvIfVSCyshnTQDso-Zh1Hcr8VvaiUDULfpUwkk7F/s1600/3-IMG_20180210_113530.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="796" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2A5p85Q6SJCdxt3RwSMEABXSQ5PItaajqHwbrFtFfNs-c0C1kw89_rdNd-WJva2sHLOpaZqnofjEG4Igr_YZR1Yr4Dkx502QhDaicjvIfVSCyshnTQDso-Zh1Hcr8VvaiUDULfpUwkk7F/s640/3-IMG_20180210_113530.jpg" width="636" /></a></div>
<br />
A closer look at the palette and distressed finish!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0Ov50Yax-LgAi5ggFi7rZR0XdaOxrLgy_Tqo23ZSprQtlfpe0mP72ld4rZ2nsA_hyphenhyphentb7PiEeW2HdjgH2Q6JoXucEWr1ovLLeUdfZSao4aGhmGzFOHZJ1Rlc5zM1p544hbR2WTn_1YfObU/s1600/4-IMG_20180210_113536.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="434" data-original-width="800" height="346" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0Ov50Yax-LgAi5ggFi7rZR0XdaOxrLgy_Tqo23ZSprQtlfpe0mP72ld4rZ2nsA_hyphenhyphentb7PiEeW2HdjgH2Q6JoXucEWr1ovLLeUdfZSao4aGhmGzFOHZJ1Rlc5zM1p544hbR2WTn_1YfObU/s640/4-IMG_20180210_113536.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have then decoupaged a floral tissue on to the faux palette! A rose looks lovely against the brown wood...what say???</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEKnBcpUghiSDnrclKHMzm13IltEucd3eW7CsAkZKDCevMyO7mpifkn9xqPIXvv7zN0o2TKQgQ0N3fvj4eSIE2oaL-XkVWspuKNZPqBA7damxs2-F9Bijf4Ydub-UuY8yDNFUNFzdCBJ96/s1600/5-IMG_20180210_130840.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="686" data-original-width="800" height="548" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEKnBcpUghiSDnrclKHMzm13IltEucd3eW7CsAkZKDCevMyO7mpifkn9xqPIXvv7zN0o2TKQgQ0N3fvj4eSIE2oaL-XkVWspuKNZPqBA7damxs2-F9Bijf4Ydub-UuY8yDNFUNFzdCBJ96/s640/5-IMG_20180210_130840.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
A look at the completed box!<br />
<br />

Helllo crafty folks!<br />
<br />
Rupa here on a Thursday with an amazing project share using the FIRST OF IT'S KIND <a href="https://www.crafterscorner.in/index.php?route=product/search&filter_name=fabric%20transfer">FABRIC TRANSFER</a> technique launched by Dress My Craft!<br />
Yes, it's<b> fabric transfer</b> in just a few steps!<br />
<br />
Here are a few things to keep in mind for this technique...<br />
<br />
1. The technique can be done on ANY fabric that can be ironed and can withstand the heat from ironing. It should not shrink or burn!<br />
<br />
2. Be patient and take your time to iron the transfer and your regular iron on COTTON mode should do. No need to use a steam iron.<br />
<br />
3. Give sufficient time for cooling and don't be in a hurry to peel the transfer sheet.<br />
<br />
4. MILD HAND WASH only and that too with cold water.<br />
<br />
With all these in mind, you can just go about using this transfer technique to create some amazing stuff for the home like tote bags, cushion covers, pillow covers, aprons, journal covers and many more. It's your creativity and imagination at play!<br />
<br />
Let me tell you it is the first of its kind and now fabric transfer can be done in a jiffy!<br />
Here is what I made and I have a full video on this.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2Sv-BGOAqSZpE8hvZx4n6hjcFsq-4o0us7H5gHRMHA2BWojTtb8xTrU2ebEh-R1SylLbNWwf1Hk8a7W3UMxN2EcX_SrQGN6iGIMcRG2H0lOO_RUD_KFkthz5pbZGF3ypuVfxSbr6e1sKa/s1600/2-IMG_20180216_140710.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="684" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2Sv-BGOAqSZpE8hvZx4n6hjcFsq-4o0us7H5gHRMHA2BWojTtb8xTrU2ebEh-R1SylLbNWwf1Hk8a7W3UMxN2EcX_SrQGN6iGIMcRG2H0lOO_RUD_KFkthz5pbZGF3ypuVfxSbr6e1sKa/s640/2-IMG_20180216_140710.jpg" width="546" /></a><br />

Hello crafty folks!<br />
This Thursday I bring you another project with the newly launched <a href="http://crafterscornerindia.blogspot.in/2018/01/say-it-with-dmc-squares.html">DMC stencils.</a><br />
You can use them in so many ways, for mixed media with texture paste or paints, sprays, inks, use blending foam to blend in inks, use as an embossing folder if you have a Big Shot plus!<br />
<br />
Today I have upcycled 2 items for my project!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
When a man challenges you to do something, you take it seriously don't you and if it's your husband, am sure you will do that extra mile to accept it!<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9g2585md7PzjRedVivix7kAgS4f33470n3Tm3d-4pybbfSTESgzh_WTdDMuVbVcMU-Drth9xMrwCmv6Y5r1HxMrHpb_dQcNwD1RPxjWh1xwSJ3anZS9npiZ78UmcpolDv5DFZiA676oEb/s1600/02-IMG_20180115_171813.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="602" data-original-width="800" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9g2585md7PzjRedVivix7kAgS4f33470n3Tm3d-4pybbfSTESgzh_WTdDMuVbVcMU-Drth9xMrwCmv6Y5r1HxMrHpb_dQcNwD1RPxjWh1xwSJ3anZS9npiZ78UmcpolDv5DFZiA676oEb/s640/02-IMG_20180115_171813.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div>
<br />
Firstly, I accepted to give his worn out mobile cove a makeover...have a look at the condition that it was!<br />
<br />
For this masculine project, I took <a href="http://www.crafterscorner.in/dmc-41">DMC BROKEN EDGES</a> stencil, I loved how random and uneven they are! Perfect for a man!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
I altered it into a wicker basket using paper rope.<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
The paper line that I have used for this is from DCWV Nana’s Kitchen Mat stack. Some of them even have glitter! I wove an oval pattern with the paper rope on the lid and then plaited it up on the flap to make it a stand out! For the closure I used a lovely floral bauble and some jute rope to form the loop. The box closes really snug!<br />
<br />
For the embellishments on the lid, I have stuck some hand made gardenias using joy crafts die and leaves are using CLD Tropical leaves.<br />
<br />

A little note from grandma here…</div>

<div class="MsoNormal">
A TISSUE ROLL MINI…<br />
Actually I haven’t complicated the mini…it has 4 main pages with lots of interactive elements! Lots of pockets and pull outs for photos and journaling.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYu49ALL_Ryl5sZ9KzoJk6wwj9VcHWmq9LulLc0aM6SzF0rsh1ZFXXev-FCvJS7y6KvFPBTkO_RID2Qglt94tmf2lMmY92AdBUz0ER2vazWsibEhMQZEHrbFwXgTzDbNRGV8j2dtiwyECB/s1600/5-8-DSC04115.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="585" data-original-width="800" height="468" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYu49ALL_Ryl5sZ9KzoJk6wwj9VcHWmq9LulLc0aM6SzF0rsh1ZFXXev-FCvJS7y6KvFPBTkO_RID2Qglt94tmf2lMmY92AdBUz0ER2vazWsibEhMQZEHrbFwXgTzDbNRGV8j2dtiwyECB/s640/5-8-DSC04115.JPG" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
The paper line is the same as the box and I have only used flat back pearls as embellishments here. I dint want the mini to fan up! Not too much fuss on this one, very functional mini inside!<br />

Helloooo...<br />
It's November already! That brings us to the new challenge at<a href="http://rheddscreativespirit.blogspot.in/2017/11/november-challenge.html"> Rhedd's Creative Spirit</a> where the theme always is "anything goes, Mixed media or altered art". Do take time to see what the team has in store for you and play along, it's fun!<br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 21.4667px;">I have altered a thrift store plastic pot and have given it an antique look. The colors are inspired by cool cool weather here in Bangalore!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 21.4667px;">This is what it looks like now after the makeover.</span><br />

<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 21.4667px;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 21.4667px;">Let’s get on with the step by step….<o:p></o:p></span><br />
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 21.4667px;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 21.4667px;">First of all, primed the surface with gesso and sponge, a generous e2 coats and for the second coat, I added a few drops of blue ink to the gesso. This gave the pot a lovely icy blue color and then I went about shading the edges with cornflower blue Archival ink.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 21.4667px;"></span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 21.4667px;">The sponging gave the pot a natural coarseness and then I further added texture with TH burlap stencil and cornflower blue archival ink.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 21.4667px;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 21.4667px;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEia0EuJNkWzE0yRfiO1LR3_-VGEAN-2pXOsDj2XYI7OmZlRpZ7-bNCMSS8JFlFu6s6o2fedehGfgVNJU1MvGHFI46RLIsTD5zfM85_SJimbqggCbBNy2ONTvDa-PLNas7cL8mC03QyuygjR/s1600/2-3-DSC04785.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="font-size: medium; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="652" data-original-width="730" height="570" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEia0EuJNkWzE0yRfiO1LR3_-VGEAN-2pXOsDj2XYI7OmZlRpZ7-bNCMSS8JFlFu6s6o2fedehGfgVNJU1MvGHFI46RLIsTD5zfM85_SJimbqggCbBNy2ONTvDa-PLNas7cL8mC03QyuygjR/s640/2-3-DSC04785.JPG" width="640" /></a></span><br />
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 21.4667px;"><span style="font-size: 18.6667px;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 21.4667px;"><span style="font-size: 18.6667px;">Next, I did some random text stamping using Bo Bunny stamps and potting soil Archival ink. The butterflies were also stamped with black Archival ink. Finally, I did some black color splats and edged the pot with brown and black ink give it an aged look. That’s a lot of Archival Ink on one project, and hence the title, lol!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 21.4667px;"><span style="font-size: 18.6667px;"><br /></span></span>

<span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 21.4667px;"><span style="font-size: 18.6667px;">The pot was ready for some embellishments…I decided to make my own ornate embellies for this. I used some packaging cardboard and Sizzix Fleur de Lis die to cut out 3 pieces.</span></span><br />

Hellooo Crafty folks,<br />
Its October already! The new month brings us to another challenge at <a href="http://rheddscreativespirit.blogspot.in/2017/10/octobers-challenge.html">Rhedd's Creative Spirit</a> where the theme is always "Anything Goes, Altered art or Mixed media".<br />
<br />
Well, I have altered a plastic curd bucket, a leftover after inviting guests at home, lol! The size was perfect to make it into a flower vase.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgG0-zfiyODmdDsFWDpZlR1NkTyeKncFc_5RU0M3BvR-xWsYJ9XxM_ehxoYU8dLjmP5I1VTT9VOd9CAvSB-EvHGDHWPtW4RxCmS8AkilZPQ3tAugqRZ4lorl52LEBzxNX-io-J8cTMFMyhx/s1600/1-IMG_20170908_141200.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="777" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgG0-zfiyODmdDsFWDpZlR1NkTyeKncFc_5RU0M3BvR-xWsYJ9XxM_ehxoYU8dLjmP5I1VTT9VOd9CAvSB-EvHGDHWPtW4RxCmS8AkilZPQ3tAugqRZ4lorl52LEBzxNX-io-J8cTMFMyhx/s640/1-IMG_20170908_141200.jpg" width="620" /></a><br />
<br />
I decided to give it 2 coats of chalk paints, bit of grey and white dabbed with a sponge randomly. I wanted a rustic, cemented kind of look. Once, I liked the color, I went about doing some stenciling in white and also decoupaged some floral tissues here and there.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHsaYAU7MlJS0sqTwjqXOZJoy16G-sXCFvttGS7qcX4naIg-85IMsXIUzUAIDkdmSP8WMQmhhQfx0uKOR6HMy4gF5wY3uUTW0VW6wl54V-DnASV2qLiCvc25_UtFJeI4Ts3y-COOHjuUla/s1600/5-IMG_20170928_121700.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="696" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHsaYAU7MlJS0sqTwjqXOZJoy16G-sXCFvttGS7qcX4naIg-85IMsXIUzUAIDkdmSP8WMQmhhQfx0uKOR6HMy4gF5wY3uUTW0VW6wl54V-DnASV2qLiCvc25_UtFJeI4Ts3y-COOHjuUla/s640/5-IMG_20170928_121700.jpg" width="556" /></a><br />
<br />
My flower was ready to be displayed...but to display what???<br />
<br />
Well, here is another experiment that I tried, I made hydrangeas using coffee filter paper!<br />
I love hydrangeas and where I live, I have no access to this beauty and so I decided to craft this from my studio!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtp6XUbhUvU66UObEGNPZZZNWBMOUvrzNpSGzrKGxAJgUw1bFs1vJfFu_FKJbZjxnOWbGeQge06BnMKDVlK36rTCpV1ktR7NXg_DSAPWDOqYFGA08YRMOkhh0ViWSiNurOlvmzk82r4EiJ/s1600/2-IMG_20170928_120753.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="681" data-original-width="800" height="544" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtp6XUbhUvU66UObEGNPZZZNWBMOUvrzNpSGzrKGxAJgUw1bFs1vJfFu_FKJbZjxnOWbGeQge06BnMKDVlK36rTCpV1ktR7NXg_DSAPWDOqYFGA08YRMOkhh0ViWSiNurOlvmzk82r4EiJ/s640/2-IMG_20170928_120753.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
I have used coffee filter papers and food colors and made 3 bunches of them in different colors and have arranged them in the case!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdBjJawnGiigZAkqH3eF0dsvRcaN31lKIZVtRoQiq8iw_8qvmB0jRk8kE0XnrzUXilzu7LBEGp_9RGeEhGGtSlpMQgpPGwZXx37612JmBt1Os6ZVDzrO1jB9qK3YZiNSUvk4Da8Ah8086r/s1600/3-IMG_20170928_120817.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="669" data-original-width="800" height="534" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdBjJawnGiigZAkqH3eF0dsvRcaN31lKIZVtRoQiq8iw_8qvmB0jRk8kE0XnrzUXilzu7LBEGp_9RGeEhGGtSlpMQgpPGwZXx37612JmBt1Os6ZVDzrO1jB9qK3YZiNSUvk4Da8Ah8086r/s640/3-IMG_20170928_120817.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
I am not sure which side looks the but, however I looved it from all angles and love my new hydrangeas on the table! I also added some lavender oil to the food color and so my flower do smell a bit, lol!<br />
<br />

<br />

<span style="text-align: left;">Hello and welcome to my page.</span></div>
<br />
The beginning of September and it's time for some inspiration from <a href="https://rheddscreativespirit.blogspot.in/">Rhedd's Creative Spirit</a>! The rules are simple, "anything goes, altered art or mixed media".<br />
<br />
My DT project is an uocycled liquor carton which I altered into a faux rusty flower vase.<br />
<br />
Here is the before pic...<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXt9BAoA3QIWHS9VC2MbnerO3Y408-ghwHZoA5soIgAVRBXN0W8yEuEEwCTQ3DH_zzUpQz5HGuVyePjMR6Y-48uV2cdrdT2XwvINAU_ZOTBbuWj3hYIkUTI8_JZe7B0EtTKNt029ns7es0/s1600/1-IMG_20170802_102507-001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="612" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXt9BAoA3QIWHS9VC2MbnerO3Y408-ghwHZoA5soIgAVRBXN0W8yEuEEwCTQ3DH_zzUpQz5HGuVyePjMR6Y-48uV2cdrdT2XwvINAU_ZOTBbuWj3hYIkUTI8_JZe7B0EtTKNt029ns7es0/s320/1-IMG_20170802_102507-001.jpg" width="244" /></a><br />
<br />
And this is what it became!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6LfQwXbWRLpMJAIhhyphenhyphenjJE3xW2h7gFg6sx29ZO5y8QDi1o_SkvIXoM9az4NwpZuca-aWPN4Qz1AVwtNbTBTUqSGRXbz5sFfQ8m4peXd9xQrU2-zJ2_omlhYmtlDLDuRfPwAOkU8NJYCXbO/s1600/1-IMG_20170828_101615.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="537" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6LfQwXbWRLpMJAIhhyphenhyphenjJE3xW2h7gFg6sx29ZO5y8QDi1o_SkvIXoM9az4NwpZuca-aWPN4Qz1AVwtNbTBTUqSGRXbz5sFfQ8m4peXd9xQrU2-zJ2_omlhYmtlDLDuRfPwAOkU8NJYCXbO/s640/1-IMG_20170828_101615.jpg" width="428" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I started by covering the top half on the carton with an embossed card stock(dry embossing) and the lower half with some cotton chord.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBiexI0a7J0qNpTILFu6ztb6NK0g8txewW61OZowDrSopNzi8huIWQWhfbUp0tu7APmijZbBNZa18wBHerxEKTZIERUgc1xGLhTY8ZkjbQcR6J3-YtgGYdohacrycRED8dYQnuxmoBIeTo/s1600/2-IMG_20170802_104952.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="409" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBiexI0a7J0qNpTILFu6ztb6NK0g8txewW61OZowDrSopNzi8huIWQWhfbUp0tu7APmijZbBNZa18wBHerxEKTZIERUgc1xGLhTY8ZkjbQcR6J3-YtgGYdohacrycRED8dYQnuxmoBIeTo/s320/2-IMG_20170802_104952.jpg" width="163" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjj5cFk6QX5v-iMnsbvqYWUtAK12KO7keLWUd2KNsj-4U_Tn1emwm7ANELX_Rs3D7UcFvRjkqEwOf4atzIF0Gk3A8DB6464BVW-xPAARoTy-HcieKGV2EyvIYv3sbpJ98ddmVVB7joPmmeQ/s1600/3-IMG_20170802_165617.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="602" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjj5cFk6QX5v-iMnsbvqYWUtAK12KO7keLWUd2KNsj-4U_Tn1emwm7ANELX_Rs3D7UcFvRjkqEwOf4atzIF0Gk3A8DB6464BVW-xPAARoTy-HcieKGV2EyvIYv3sbpJ98ddmVVB7joPmmeQ/s320/3-IMG_20170802_165617.jpg" width="240" /></a>I then covered the embossed portion with black gesso and then applied some crackle medium in random areas.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUpC-FQUhJaOwb9YxuhiKkXCIeAOZF-FS3sfouVB4q5qHLQJiFQAEI4zZl0vbLY2kLMuGM8ZTe5TnHhBO0SI_2DLN9Ef8Q3Caerj4GAmlesXdEUS5-f6GEvxSbcaAxCGtSl3-KeUZp4Qq0/s1600/4-IMG_20170802_171228.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="602" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUpC-FQUhJaOwb9YxuhiKkXCIeAOZF-FS3sfouVB4q5qHLQJiFQAEI4zZl0vbLY2kLMuGM8ZTe5TnHhBO0SI_2DLN9Ef8Q3Caerj4GAmlesXdEUS5-f6GEvxSbcaAxCGtSl3-KeUZp4Qq0/s320/4-IMG_20170802_171228.jpg" width="240" /></a>Next, i applied patina paint over the black gesso and once that dried, sanded lightly over the top to reveal the base color.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgi1KHFb83rol6LWhf3YlGw5MZrjMWF0cSjDRuBS6K-ZcO4Et6hevQHxgjMMa3L-W1GqZwvcrhyuInlQPvZTAqnhotq1ITd6J3bFwT61vQyfXAqpwsQ15ecP8hi9IUcJgKIBw4cil4oZCb8/s1600/5-IMG_20170802_171440.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="602" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgi1KHFb83rol6LWhf3YlGw5MZrjMWF0cSjDRuBS6K-ZcO4Et6hevQHxgjMMa3L-W1GqZwvcrhyuInlQPvZTAqnhotq1ITd6J3bFwT61vQyfXAqpwsQ15ecP8hi9IUcJgKIBw4cil4oZCb8/s320/5-IMG_20170802_171440.jpg" width="240" /></a>Here is how the distressed top looks!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am sorry, I forgot to click the pictures at this point! I first applied some dark rust paint. This is from PLAID painted finishes and over it I applied some light rust paint. I used a sponge to dab on this and once this dried, it gave an amazing textures, peeling rusty look!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKaK80T3AHb3O2com17Gn0kuQLaVhFNkrcDHo3IYjjbii3Pb0Plh1g_bY88YL-UMAtWm1i386RoKyw1mjlDyJrN9x49_Lc6WswEjLEFm2TlvA4k8jjVNVfcgQXxB87dIh5hb5FtnZIRXUM/s1600/9-IMG_20170828_101622.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKaK80T3AHb3O2com17Gn0kuQLaVhFNkrcDHo3IYjjbii3Pb0Plh1g_bY88YL-UMAtWm1i386RoKyw1mjlDyJrN9x49_Lc6WswEjLEFm2TlvA4k8jjVNVfcgQXxB87dIh5hb5FtnZIRXUM/s640/9-IMG_20170828_101622.jpg" width="480" /></a><br />
<br />
For the lower half, where I had covered with twine, I decoupage a floral tissue using Mod podge and sealed it too.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiODbOy_3LtuToNz9bQXxTWNhVNuh6_X3COTtDDmykBSofcgSX5vldo4vqY_4gL-cQQfCnuyZfMwVmYKBs3ieMegvSvtl32jxE2XcXi92tdMGqfPKZl5LUi6NwnUz22g5Zjd3Sa-Re2QRTw/s1600/1-IMG_20170828_101639.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="691" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiODbOy_3LtuToNz9bQXxTWNhVNuh6_X3COTtDDmykBSofcgSX5vldo4vqY_4gL-cQQfCnuyZfMwVmYKBs3ieMegvSvtl32jxE2XcXi92tdMGqfPKZl5LUi6NwnUz22g5Zjd3Sa-Re2QRTw/s640/1-IMG_20170828_101639.jpg" width="552" /></a><br />
<br />

Hello and welcome to my page today.<br />
<br />
My today's Plaid play is all about FAUX GALVANIZED METAL technique using chalk paints and then to give it a rusted finish using the Plaid texture paints in Dark rust and light rust.<br />
I have upcycled a few items of this project and you can see it all in the video tutorial<br />
<br />
Here is the entire family together!<br />

Helllooo crafty peeps...<br />
It's the beginning of a new month and I am here to share with you my DT project for <a href="https://rheddscreativespirit.blogspot.in/">Rhedd's Creative Spirit for August'17</a>. The theme as always is "anything goes", Mixed media or altered art.<br />
<br />
As for me, I have up cycled a packaging carton this time and altered it using the faux palette wood technique. I have a video here for the technique..<br />
<br />
<iframe width="320" height="266" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/py0hR4VA9Vw/0.jpg" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/py0hR4VA9Vw?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe><br />
<br />
Here is the packaging before the makeover!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5m5OvnCq9RtqdvkxneVVeekfnu3ZGkFhipcHRHkJ2uCmmxxtO8ZUcZuQB-uBEA__GalN62v2EoAL2N6iG9ljCsUU3NkgBfesBeIiDsjvD-blBeolZhqVxfQYrl7ifJ2-gtFbtaOC0hifV/s1600/1-IMG_20170711_172559.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="424" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5m5OvnCq9RtqdvkxneVVeekfnu3ZGkFhipcHRHkJ2uCmmxxtO8ZUcZuQB-uBEA__GalN62v2EoAL2N6iG9ljCsUU3NkgBfesBeIiDsjvD-blBeolZhqVxfQYrl7ifJ2-gtFbtaOC0hifV/s320/1-IMG_20170711_172559.jpg" width="169" /></a><br />
<br />
Here is how it looks after the treatment...<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2jKTCwMUZkmVDJrtcs2_j1GIkUUQdS39pi1Zu-Aoo1wjYsHxRlBmOWYgcSycxkiAQyto6dEh42f30AwYDHT9qqdJObeEdK4xx9q3TdzA2rSg6OuHCkLqUl0rDkvMqLvQbkd9Nxk48sCQk/s1600/1-IMG_20170724_092718.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="430" data-original-width="800" height="344" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2jKTCwMUZkmVDJrtcs2_j1GIkUUQdS39pi1Zu-Aoo1wjYsHxRlBmOWYgcSycxkiAQyto6dEh42f30AwYDHT9qqdJObeEdK4xx9q3TdzA2rSg6OuHCkLqUl0rDkvMqLvQbkd9Nxk48sCQk/s640/1-IMG_20170724_092718.jpg" width="640" /></a><br />
<br />
I have made it into a table decor and candle holder.<br />
It also has some hand made foamiran flowers which I am beginning to enjoy making!<br />
<br />

<br />
The candles when lit , looks surreal...I love the warmth of the entire project...how about you???<br />

Hello and welcome to my page today.<br />
<br />
This week for the Plaid play at <a href="https://crafterscornerindia.blogspot.in/">Crafters Corner</a>I have played around with chalk paints in a different way. The weather here is beautiful and things around are bright and beautiful and drawing inspiration from my beautiful garden over looking my studio, I decided to upcycle an empty coconut oil jar this time!<br />
Yes...here it is..<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXrGimP0RT7oOBnXvwlLEC0FQbezFj3E_wi4t6WlIEIDhqVg1G1Ey0CDlhCq3DhvVwk6jxDshscpLfYyf-l1_rEBZKtAzbkm2NfolTlBMrcHjI9yjKhJmb7vX5SwpY1C36UGnM8olO5YV0/s1600/01-IMG_20170717_141510-001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="486" data-original-width="450" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXrGimP0RT7oOBnXvwlLEC0FQbezFj3E_wi4t6WlIEIDhqVg1G1Ey0CDlhCq3DhvVwk6jxDshscpLfYyf-l1_rEBZKtAzbkm2NfolTlBMrcHjI9yjKhJmb7vX5SwpY1C36UGnM8olO5YV0/s320/01-IMG_20170717_141510-001.jpg" width="296" /></a><br />
<br />
I wanted to try mixed media with chalk paints and have layered the lid with found objects at home, gauze, corrugated card board buttons, bobbins, nails, flowers, broken pendants and ofcourse some coconut coir!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZmyA26kBf_Htw6fwbGGdv5eqJmkztAgyvLW5mgBDI4yEW1kqUvVwhhD_QBByGan4o93wNA7FlFcCHnJ7yc-KDRPK7itSiTYQmKxnKJytcrO_qB33RBL8Iyn0nwRY9kj1JiZZZ4M_hHsp3/s1600/03-IMG_20170717_144732.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="422" data-original-width="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZmyA26kBf_Htw6fwbGGdv5eqJmkztAgyvLW5mgBDI4yEW1kqUvVwhhD_QBByGan4o93wNA7FlFcCHnJ7yc-KDRPK7itSiTYQmKxnKJytcrO_qB33RBL8Iyn0nwRY9kj1JiZZZ4M_hHsp3/s1600/03-IMG_20170717_144732.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
After the layering, went about with giving a coat of black gesso and then started the fun.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTzZPSPkYYmEFVkokv4Q-EvDP1emTYaskCCzDOwsT4Tm-roiopasHpi-uWwmeSFtBBQfrnrr3QhXOEkiJ_VoKERCekvULZcrXF8Z1UuI8ECSLLbVz9MbqyW1avrYkoOUfh-JAdUefpSrGB/s1600/04-IMG_20170717_181403-001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTzZPSPkYYmEFVkokv4Q-EvDP1emTYaskCCzDOwsT4Tm-roiopasHpi-uWwmeSFtBBQfrnrr3QhXOEkiJ_VoKERCekvULZcrXF8Z1UuI8ECSLLbVz9MbqyW1avrYkoOUfh-JAdUefpSrGB/s1600/04-IMG_20170717_181403-001.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
I have used the dry bruising technique and have layered some lovely chalk paints from Plaid to add colors.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbVOEcqyYrOVzsIceEqrsIeqifv-KWmjOjnu6n5grPEVH9i76p5XyiRUI4GTKqGe6eV8nDS_WJ1RTMY9DfVMsJ6gsZzSoIyL-NFJ5ZRlnGJAWuOvCoPC7mPHHIYQxvSiFSkCqbh6MsOINc/s1600/06-IMG_20170718_083252.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="450" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbVOEcqyYrOVzsIceEqrsIeqifv-KWmjOjnu6n5grPEVH9i76p5XyiRUI4GTKqGe6eV8nDS_WJ1RTMY9DfVMsJ6gsZzSoIyL-NFJ5ZRlnGJAWuOvCoPC7mPHHIYQxvSiFSkCqbh6MsOINc/s320/06-IMG_20170718_083252.jpg" width="240" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3TsG-jHd0ADCJPW6gSlyd_2GapD_DwCmqn7Q_YuealxJbIEX9bmSNVGgIoA4FkOtxAcKCGNzvUUkKPz3uZoS8ACzSHyuhQp3a0ip8_uRCLUcQiotUrAWwRC9R1oAXjdMiC8uzp3OBQcyX/s1600/07-IMG_20170718_083429.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="450" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3TsG-jHd0ADCJPW6gSlyd_2GapD_DwCmqn7Q_YuealxJbIEX9bmSNVGgIoA4FkOtxAcKCGNzvUUkKPz3uZoS8ACzSHyuhQp3a0ip8_uRCLUcQiotUrAWwRC9R1oAXjdMiC8uzp3OBQcyX/s320/07-IMG_20170718_083429.jpg" width="240" /></a><br />
<br />
The lid now reminded me a little dense forest, what say ??? With a shiny coat varnish, it was ready to attract the winged creatures!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxjQuTtMWVjGvUkW5rmwjndcoa-ujV0PThsyVhgR1HFBSo4y7DVH_jSURkHJSzPfYwuHJZ5IoV07mM7JeuYplnNH88tt-w1JEG-c_6nV4L6P0Ua7p7B8OD3mlQZbct341uFuMzzTZkhiGD/s1600/3-IMG_20170718_164816.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="375" data-original-width="450" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxjQuTtMWVjGvUkW5rmwjndcoa-ujV0PThsyVhgR1HFBSo4y7DVH_jSURkHJSzPfYwuHJZ5IoV07mM7JeuYplnNH88tt-w1JEG-c_6nV4L6P0Ua7p7B8OD3mlQZbct341uFuMzzTZkhiGD/s1600/3-IMG_20170718_164816.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
And so the base a treatment with chalk paints in 2 colors and some crackle medium from Plaid (Homedecor) too and I have used the antique matte mod podge to decoupage this lovely tissue on to the base.<br />

It's beautiful so see the print thru the cracks and the intentional distressing on the glass jar adds to the vintage look.<br />
<br />

<br />
Another coat of the mod podge and I sealed the entire jar with satin varnish from Plaid. Here is how it all looks put together.<br />
<br />

I wanted more to this home decor piece and lit a candle inside to see the magic unravel!!<br />
<br />

Hellooo crafty folks..<br />
<br />
We start another month and so does another challenge at <a href="http://rheddscreativespirit.blogspot.in/2017/07/julys-challenge.html">Rhedd's Creative Spirit.</a> Its always anything goes, altered art or mixed media.<br />
<br />
My take on this month is play with a few unwanted cd's and a scrap wood strip!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyRizFLM74GBcQdTuliwCjVFo2uU4oOUYzKmYB56kFuLDZh9WV-boZhtUE8LL5y4mcJpUQZsyM_nTAdETCFmRHnV8dyr8PMG64V81dBPz_u54cRLcNTDtWaGjzew80qYFe_U1lDIm7ytp5/s1600/5-20170626_081834.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="608" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyRizFLM74GBcQdTuliwCjVFo2uU4oOUYzKmYB56kFuLDZh9WV-boZhtUE8LL5y4mcJpUQZsyM_nTAdETCFmRHnV8dyr8PMG64V81dBPz_u54cRLcNTDtWaGjzew80qYFe_U1lDIm7ytp5/s640/5-20170626_081834.jpg" width="486" /></a><br />
<br />
I made a wall hanging out of them using crackle and decoupage effect.<br />
<br />
Here it is...<br />
I created crackle with modpodge this time and then decouaged the tissue on top.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyj45wDggqwZv2Uc78JVaEoD5BYtGkHS8Pt3oqaXSNPBZfPrMhlBA8vE2_NIlKeR-XPycmpZsQV0b072LsS_8wynnlTEX78V9JdshMbobFTD11hLNmMiuRrCDSj3dZVA0RLDa60VFxG8AM/s1600/2-20170626_081741.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="575" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyj45wDggqwZv2Uc78JVaEoD5BYtGkHS8Pt3oqaXSNPBZfPrMhlBA8vE2_NIlKeR-XPycmpZsQV0b072LsS_8wynnlTEX78V9JdshMbobFTD11hLNmMiuRrCDSj3dZVA0RLDa60VFxG8AM/s640/2-20170626_081741.jpg" width="460" /></a><br />
<br />
The 3 cd's have lovely patterns perfect for home decor.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGey8FM_04-JeNpkPB_bMTTIn9lDlfMTblkw2PRXI5LNlSPWOpGAGlXjZLErUzFHASot2fHomFkV5cFJEKObrz41iWSR1TtCa5a7E928sTfYwwh6Fj2sO9a80yoDsXY-F8D7ND1rITImXv/s1600/3-20170626_081746.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="661" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGey8FM_04-JeNpkPB_bMTTIn9lDlfMTblkw2PRXI5LNlSPWOpGAGlXjZLErUzFHASot2fHomFkV5cFJEKObrz41iWSR1TtCa5a7E928sTfYwwh6Fj2sO9a80yoDsXY-F8D7ND1rITImXv/s640/3-20170626_081746.jpg" width="528" /></a><br />
<br />
Once that was done, I have stuck some cotton rope around it and then used Archival brown to distress it.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5q_uuWiHcN-c8DrhjMcFZesMB8DE1K1InP5hvTrJ7o05MzUaWtIODyY0zVaH_cVvzbzSgOZA-qERKS8xlkK9L77RkIm64B3R3s4O9ORl2RGBPMZKwIo5wOHVl6gA19RZc-qTOv1n5r5XK/s1600/4-20170626_081750.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="730" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5q_uuWiHcN-c8DrhjMcFZesMB8DE1K1InP5hvTrJ7o05MzUaWtIODyY0zVaH_cVvzbzSgOZA-qERKS8xlkK9L77RkIm64B3R3s4O9ORl2RGBPMZKwIo5wOHVl6gA19RZc-qTOv1n5r5XK/s640/4-20170626_081750.jpg" width="584" /></a><br />
<br />
I then colored the wood strip with PLAID Homedecor wood tint and then adhered the the cd's on it using a strong glue.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXCg4JL0d-QPxCMJCslrq9xl0BH7TuExy_a-ui2IUzVM1IvkohprjVelq5IbdXcecayGWq9U04vkKBii7wNHS795XWWMNbCT180A4XruSycmBEKem2bl-jq-kq5uejsNbzCDkmc8_7w5Fq/s1600/6-20170626_081922.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="733" data-original-width="714" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXCg4JL0d-QPxCMJCslrq9xl0BH7TuExy_a-ui2IUzVM1IvkohprjVelq5IbdXcecayGWq9U04vkKBii7wNHS795XWWMNbCT180A4XruSycmBEKem2bl-jq-kq5uejsNbzCDkmc8_7w5Fq/s640/6-20170626_081922.jpg" width="622" /></a><br />
<br />
I tried making flowers with foamiran and was quite happy with them, so they too found a place on this project.<br />
<br />

Hellloo...<br />
It's the last THURSDAY of this month and I have seen you 5 times this month! I thought I will end this month with a video tutorial on how to paint FAUX PALETTE WOOD with chalk paints on any smooth surface.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8Vm9jfXj6MKGKBoqahwwlTgnuTG7CcJ9IVo5XPrOBECTslzZcxOQFJO57vq2u7DxxES2GIAD81FViZIigV4bo3dk9oH8X5AVXKbxVxonDGbXIeZ-VIJ5y94yOD2w1vboq0_Bb8RSCQXTa/s1600/2-20170625_173216.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="532" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8Vm9jfXj6MKGKBoqahwwlTgnuTG7CcJ9IVo5XPrOBECTslzZcxOQFJO57vq2u7DxxES2GIAD81FViZIigV4bo3dk9oH8X5AVXKbxVxonDGbXIeZ-VIJ5y94yOD2w1vboq0_Bb8RSCQXTa/s1600/2-20170625_173216.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
The technique that I show can be done on mdf or art journals or even card stock. All you need is some gesso and a few chalk paints(colors of your choice).<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjY3ETE-lH1wIzcENfijMeDjlznnq9TEBpxF8KwoaommT6wIGV6cdHQghqiQInX8Eru-bw_UMDW2qCmX4FTDI7BkVHC5KMAjvKRUUbu2q_PDeAwH7OdTNV3yZZp27hca0g11FYsW14YB63j/s1600/5-20170625_173343.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="366" data-original-width="800" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjY3ETE-lH1wIzcENfijMeDjlznnq9TEBpxF8KwoaommT6wIGV6cdHQghqiQInX8Eru-bw_UMDW2qCmX4FTDI7BkVHC5KMAjvKRUUbu2q_PDeAwH7OdTNV3yZZp27hca0g11FYsW14YB63j/s1600/5-20170625_173343.jpg" /></a><br />
<br />
Do watch the video, give the technique a try and get back to me if you have any queries.<br />

<br />
<br />
The faux palette is one of my fav techniques and I have done a lot of projects using it. I have some pictures at the end of the video which should give you a lot of project ideas too.<br />
<br />
Here is what I made today with a piece of mdf board, chalk paints and some old keys!<br />
<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I will see you next week with another Plaid play.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Hellooo....<br />
Its the beginning of the month and am here with my DT post for <a href="http://rheddscreativespirit.blogspot.in/2017/06/june-challenge-at-rhedds.html">Rhedd's Creative Spirit</a>. It's altered art or mixed media always and today I have given a plain wooden caddy a makeover.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFjIPXZA1gJJOa4sKWdTocP1U339HQwEato7flRy1MFkxgEi2Ynwr2w67feQTgQLUqeiRyrtUnF-jOWywEvSj8ckgFztYQhZBAueDzmR_5zhIci0qwe2Z0_Fxxwe0GfFEe-xOg2LoWohzV/s1600/01-20161114_141454.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1513" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFjIPXZA1gJJOa4sKWdTocP1U339HQwEato7flRy1MFkxgEi2Ynwr2w67feQTgQLUqeiRyrtUnF-jOWywEvSj8ckgFztYQhZBAueDzmR_5zhIci0qwe2Z0_Fxxwe0GfFEe-xOg2LoWohzV/s400/01-20161114_141454.jpg" width="377" /></a><br />
<br />
I have used a tissue to decoupage and also used chalk paints from PLAID.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAxVEgTxhw6MWaoSvtiTXJMnj2KBnKkxna3tAcw3grJXk5HDKXzoEviqnVqzyV3fQxWvhvYpvJVtyJqPTNQrHZIeFNsFcUfcOmBcmWja2PAskvL3EWvxEk6tO35PJhrbYp0U8suqfFpwy4/s1600/04-20161124_143414.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1150" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAxVEgTxhw6MWaoSvtiTXJMnj2KBnKkxna3tAcw3grJXk5HDKXzoEviqnVqzyV3fQxWvhvYpvJVtyJqPTNQrHZIeFNsFcUfcOmBcmWja2PAskvL3EWvxEk6tO35PJhrbYp0U8suqfFpwy4/s400/04-20161124_143414.jpg" width="287" /></a><br />
<br />
The squeeze tool/comb from Plaid is an amazing tool to give instant texture and dimension to an otherwise painted surface.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLzbP5cFTjzYb9qRmS_0T7gYoe1CzyuPTmgx-PHgvVoIh4kCpio2q-mhkaBBAmQkXEKzBo6N7LL9HburgUai9ul1kF1qLhgK-QpZCRGMKrC5ZJ_9teCeape0WCzK8W7fphrCdCcRbMHlmZ/s1600/07-20161124_144606.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1187" data-original-width="1600" height="296" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLzbP5cFTjzYb9qRmS_0T7gYoe1CzyuPTmgx-PHgvVoIh4kCpio2q-mhkaBBAmQkXEKzBo6N7LL9HburgUai9ul1kF1qLhgK-QpZCRGMKrC5ZJ_9teCeape0WCzK8W7fphrCdCcRbMHlmZ/s400/07-20161124_144606.jpg" width="400" /></a><br />
Here is a closer look with the pattern using the tool. Its gives a slight raised effect to the paint and at the same time a slightly distressed look.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvuoapaB6-XTEIDR5eO0Xzg5MBg422FamXwLDMJt9hRB6F-6Cjo-Wqsq7wrsHx92nXk1QL2uhIPpOTlGPb274O6Yc8-vEDHeNJrPTx9Vgct2bO61A-Ur38X1VfnQk_ZQtDhyaBRS-Ltnys/s1600/2-20161226_111649.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1330" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvuoapaB6-XTEIDR5eO0Xzg5MBg422FamXwLDMJt9hRB6F-6Cjo-Wqsq7wrsHx92nXk1QL2uhIPpOTlGPb274O6Yc8-vEDHeNJrPTx9Vgct2bO61A-Ur38X1VfnQk_ZQtDhyaBRS-Ltnys/s400/2-20161226_111649.jpg" width="331" /></a><br />
<br />
The lovely orchids pattern tissue had be adhered using Modpodge and the excess has been sanded off.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhby0kIyDfGZEdts5rX1T9ghqkVC7-uZaB3vpKPs6UqNHIRGEyBPrLpQvk7jGnGL2bv8svulimmKVtKKgIb01dlIhxvbMbdTlZH-kJdGCJsCtkpz_fBMJno3ApyUCEeP05GijwChJ4DhBVS/s1600/06-20161124_144314.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1220" data-original-width="1600" height="305" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhby0kIyDfGZEdts5rX1T9ghqkVC7-uZaB3vpKPs6UqNHIRGEyBPrLpQvk7jGnGL2bv8svulimmKVtKKgIb01dlIhxvbMbdTlZH-kJdGCJsCtkpz_fBMJno3ApyUCEeP05GijwChJ4DhBVS/s400/06-20161124_144314.jpg" width="400" /></a><br />
<br />
I have used Home decor chalk paints Lilac and Castle. The edged have been distressed with castle and the inside of the caddy too painted with the same color.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjx-Mx9wbrIWivB4hJC8SOg18U_GngVyQIGXgZdUxV-ol7B2jKy8IVBoez2yK9oUyGU-AIYfIRLaqDiXDCvfeIypmzeuII6c7Si9UiGUgGyIB2jL4vPD6y9dg0YkGPvlqh8CsNpmj65Ef7v/s1600/10-20161124_145312.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1510" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjx-Mx9wbrIWivB4hJC8SOg18U_GngVyQIGXgZdUxV-ol7B2jKy8IVBoez2yK9oUyGU-AIYfIRLaqDiXDCvfeIypmzeuII6c7Si9UiGUgGyIB2jL4vPD6y9dg0YkGPvlqh8CsNpmj65Ef7v/s400/10-20161124_145312.jpg" width="377" /></a><br />
<br />
I also soaked some cotton rope in watery chalk paint and then let it dry. The colored rope was then used around the handle.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixL4I4Nv4pJhUrzc-KCZZp-SjUIG5SX-qrsxRxMdM5NcvBNR0gvVnvETVQIzKUu91xZr5-8DjOwihau4vqFkBYmeBCP1HorLNoCiQEhyCMst4VPoDK-foJf0G7PaZP8yEofun-C1lHmWKf/s1600/11-20161124_145800.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1221" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEixL4I4Nv4pJhUrzc-KCZZp-SjUIG5SX-qrsxRxMdM5NcvBNR0gvVnvETVQIzKUu91xZr5-8DjOwihau4vqFkBYmeBCP1HorLNoCiQEhyCMst4VPoDK-foJf0G7PaZP8yEofun-C1lHmWKf/s400/11-20161124_145800.jpg" width="305" /></a><br />
<br />
I love how this turned out, lovely pastel shades and looks so different from the original now!<br />

Hellooo...<br />
<br />
I dabbled with some sprays today and couldn't wait to share the outcome with you.<br />
I have been holding onto these sprays for a couple of days and itching to play along.<br />
I recently bought a couple of Gold alcohol sprays from Itsy Bitsy and was excited to try it out.<br />
<br />
I decided to alter my journal book cover. I created this book by stitching up my childhood story book, about 5 of them! Yes these books are about 40yrs old! I like the fact that the pages inside are thick and turned old and there are some amazing water colored images.<br />
<br />
I have also used corrugated cardboard to make the book cover with a 2 inch spine. It has been in my "to do " list to alter this cover and now is the time for it!<br />
So lets's see how I did it...<br />
<br />
I first covered the cover with black gesso and then layered it with some found objects, old paint brushes, metal embellishments, modge melts, resin embellishments, fish net, buttons, old nails, old plastic pill bottle and also used die cut "CREATE" at the bottom!I used silicon glue to stick the leyers and waited overnight for it to dry!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivYAmUDvm7198aNXGkilsXmig7FivxAncAh6JtKiTHwI6pbwMxqd8NL4SpaPK53WDWYOOhC8cYObQ2yHuz0cNjgKN4FBCU-YGJyJfPQ1YN_osu2D3N16umjjeP35Q02-FZ9PG3OnfcAfHG/s1600/01-20170531_113339.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1159" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivYAmUDvm7198aNXGkilsXmig7FivxAncAh6JtKiTHwI6pbwMxqd8NL4SpaPK53WDWYOOhC8cYObQ2yHuz0cNjgKN4FBCU-YGJyJfPQ1YN_osu2D3N16umjjeP35Q02-FZ9PG3OnfcAfHG/s640/01-20170531_113339.jpg" width="460" /></a><br />
<br />
For the spine, I have used a scrap foam sheet to cut out pieces and layered the spine with it. This has been stuck with hot glue and have also created faux nails with hot glue.<br />
<br />
Next, I covered the entire arrangement with black gesso.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjq5sHA5HQPgwcw_JFoIXptDTyCdy_vJb5KcVCjdZevLlwJKB7mfUldClubPWDLLOudqipvIuUMWCrsbBHYNrPvyC6SMWw7tx1e49lxUC3_WrZzTKH2-wQdmSRBRTy54NHmDqDcsbCTtEJ8/s1600/02-20170531_122907.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1073" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjq5sHA5HQPgwcw_JFoIXptDTyCdy_vJb5KcVCjdZevLlwJKB7mfUldClubPWDLLOudqipvIuUMWCrsbBHYNrPvyC6SMWw7tx1e49lxUC3_WrZzTKH2-wQdmSRBRTy54NHmDqDcsbCTtEJ8/s640/02-20170531_122907.jpg" width="428" /></a><br />
<br />
Once this tried, I took out my sprays...time to play!<br />
<br />
The first layer was the alcohol spray in green, Citron Breeze. I heat set it and moved on to next layer with some yellow and blue stashes from my stash.<br />

<br />
The real impact was on spraying the Golden mocha spray! The entire look of the layout changed...it suddenly started to rust!<br />
You get what I am saying...look at this!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTSWEgoT2XR9_5J1Y7T4oqEwiLR37LZNNw3BuRZK1h16DCwR8RgtPULE9NJRaOjXlSD-rU_2v6Ov5Z7PcEuOoarCEQtWR8jtRhRgDnDHt6Id06xywsye7DUNJS3VvBGLL9RkstL3EdmO1f/s1600/04-20170531_131219.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="900" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTSWEgoT2XR9_5J1Y7T4oqEwiLR37LZNNw3BuRZK1h16DCwR8RgtPULE9NJRaOjXlSD-rU_2v6Ov5Z7PcEuOoarCEQtWR8jtRhRgDnDHt6Id06xywsye7DUNJS3VvBGLL9RkstL3EdmO1f/s640/04-20170531_131219.jpg" width="360" /></a><br />
<br />
This was just perfect ...I went about creating the metallic rust look on the spots that I wanted and also on the spine where I had the foam bits. Look at the outcome! Just like metallic foil!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh22khqLQKM_p1MXP9hMRZC6YPVzWai1DcAUeMttb128sxu4bkaY4sXjldy1NSyMbxazEfgybZCAmV0HRIiFCIVsv6ORjjbj_H7QP4ozHFtUYhW38KzTYkZXG2gCOZ7JrbZs3PZriYbNWcT/s1600/11-20170531_140409.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1063" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh22khqLQKM_p1MXP9hMRZC6YPVzWai1DcAUeMttb128sxu4bkaY4sXjldy1NSyMbxazEfgybZCAmV0HRIiFCIVsv6ORjjbj_H7QP4ozHFtUYhW38KzTYkZXG2gCOZ7JrbZs3PZriYbNWcT/s640/11-20170531_140409.jpg" width="424" /></a><br />
<br />
Once I was happy with the layering of color sprays, I heat set the whole thing to ensure it was dry. Then I took the metallic paste in white frost and went about rubbing with my fingers.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhVi4XIxYY1V3pqK5MIYNv-5KgeQKBJNf_v1eK5ncxT2evzPSrLmwT07xFviqeYKlO4eLut48wHhCJoQl3UU-jtOPUNNgvfsUoyDNFt4N2irN2MnTzhRPeF1-RZAYc5vS8-ttqYPtQjh5D/s1600/05-20170531_132552.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1265" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhVi4XIxYY1V3pqK5MIYNv-5KgeQKBJNf_v1eK5ncxT2evzPSrLmwT07xFviqeYKlO4eLut48wHhCJoQl3UU-jtOPUNNgvfsUoyDNFt4N2irN2MnTzhRPeF1-RZAYc5vS8-ttqYPtQjh5D/s640/05-20170531_132552.jpg" width="504" /></a><br />
<br />
This highlighted the raised portions and brought the textures out.<br />
It also toned down the darkness of the sprays and gave it a silvery, brushed metal kind of look.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ8WlRatu2vL_YMsMWgGmDnso2YUVjcYI4grDF4FkeIqfnZk-LD8AnqI2G9nJj5dLs_sQAAZkI0sjyoBvDH3m9kqlq7RUcp8Gba9LTN-wHzdM-yDuGsQULqL7_ExWdTdTVqw3CLPWt5jPc/s1600/08-20170531_140314.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1300" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ8WlRatu2vL_YMsMWgGmDnso2YUVjcYI4grDF4FkeIqfnZk-LD8AnqI2G9nJj5dLs_sQAAZkI0sjyoBvDH3m9kqlq7RUcp8Gba9LTN-wHzdM-yDuGsQULqL7_ExWdTdTVqw3CLPWt5jPc/s640/08-20170531_140314.jpg" width="520" /></a><br />
<br />
I thought I would stop with this but one look at the garden and the bright orange bloom behind, inspired me to add some hand made flowers!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3FzZhXuPASmO8S0JE2FyawNwOk7jR-dMoLZS6kVL1wNG_3b8pv3vpw8pRkmPsIUEZj-Kq_WKDX3_lD0_JtGZUTmenXWol0usMo6bOjt5TYDTSw25IRTvMsGoKv_O2l2oK6lG5L9wNkWyS/s1600/09-20170531_140322.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="903" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3FzZhXuPASmO8S0JE2FyawNwOk7jR-dMoLZS6kVL1wNG_3b8pv3vpw8pRkmPsIUEZj-Kq_WKDX3_lD0_JtGZUTmenXWol0usMo6bOjt5TYDTSw25IRTvMsGoKv_O2l2oK6lG5L9wNkWyS/s640/09-20170531_140322.jpg" width="360" /></a><br />
<br />
I tucked a couple of them which have also been colored using sprays and I have applied white frost paste in the edges.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFY2PWYkOTEiwL6K02VRT2jFz1HQ_hm05CuuYdUCZfFtmmMKJHJM9hDd_851mRyBCL_8oEdfEK20UKvTMEAdnH60RgQEeFOVK6Clg7vJWmZMcF_cDgVdy4jDkpxab65uW4H6dCWAO25Kv4/s1600/07-20170531_140239.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1384" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFY2PWYkOTEiwL6K02VRT2jFz1HQ_hm05CuuYdUCZfFtmmMKJHJM9hDd_851mRyBCL_8oEdfEK20UKvTMEAdnH60RgQEeFOVK6Clg7vJWmZMcF_cDgVdy4jDkpxab65uW4H6dCWAO25Kv4/s640/07-20170531_140239.jpg" width="552" /></a><br />
<br />
The flowers brightened the cover instantly!<br />
A perfect match to the outdoors now!<br />

<br />
I couldn't stop clicking pictures in different angles to capture the shimmer of the sprays..but I guess it looks a lot better in real!<br />
<br />

Hellooo...<br />
It's THURSDAY and back with my PLAID play!<br />
I am still not done with Mothers Day and have another project share for the same!<br />
What did you all gift your mom? I know each day we remember our mother and these gifts are just an expression of our love...and today I have another experiment with MODPODGE...IMAGE TRANSFER!<br />
<br />
You may know modpodge as a sealer and glue but did you know you can also do image transfer using it in just a few simple steps...its no rocket science.<br />
<br />
I have full length video tutorial here.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe width="320" height="266" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/RDuqlIxIj6Q/0.jpg" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/RDuqlIxIj6Q?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></div>
<br />
Do watch and give this a try..<br />

Hello crafty folks...<br />
Its been a while that I worked on my journal. I have told myself I will start off with atleat once a month now! This is a real stress buster for me I don't have to worry about the 360 degrees of the project unlike my other ones,lol!<br />
We celebrate mothers day hare on May 14th and I have quite a few projects lined up for that.<br />
My first one is here with a<a href="http://rupastofa.blogspot.in/2017/05/mothers-day-with-plaid.html"> video tutorial,</a> if you would like to see.<br />
For today, I have journal page. This journal was actually a set of my childhood story books that I have sewn together .<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjL9g-oNeUx2Zr0CqKSH-NI5uU7VWTkoY5oIWQBver8a-YoyK15VnhKIX6vO45OiSmqElSCYmuf7xOlIJ9BrRX-MHbWagsTjFYvtR39zzYQoVNY7fwCIFbHc7Z68oltNBNmSZSxYvq5D4Bd/s1600/7-20170512_113650.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjL9g-oNeUx2Zr0CqKSH-NI5uU7VWTkoY5oIWQBver8a-YoyK15VnhKIX6vO45OiSmqElSCYmuf7xOlIJ9BrRX-MHbWagsTjFYvtR39zzYQoVNY7fwCIFbHc7Z68oltNBNmSZSxYvq5D4Bd/s640/7-20170512_113650.jpg" width="477" /></a><br />
Sorry, I have no pics of the work in progress, got too carried away while working!<br />
<br />
First I created textures on the page using crumpled tissue, some Sizzix dies, stencil and crackle texture paste from Deco art. I have used the heart stencil from TimHoltz.<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsyF2RSjVgSlpt2PhGZFW49v_lW9BWOoHQEw45cElS9br6an1E5rWDLaeCEDEi54zeVoyu1vbJL433jqJg0YRC1DKpyTw-6WSETWCIYo8rIaNK-Y3gV9alZxa3eG3wiYCKxdexX05rC32e/s1600/1-20170512_113539.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsyF2RSjVgSlpt2PhGZFW49v_lW9BWOoHQEw45cElS9br6an1E5rWDLaeCEDEi54zeVoyu1vbJL433jqJg0YRC1DKpyTw-6WSETWCIYo8rIaNK-Y3gV9alZxa3eG3wiYCKxdexX05rC32e/s640/1-20170512_113539.jpg" width="508" /></a><br />
I also adhered "MOM" which is also a Sizzix alphabets die.<br />
<br />
Once the texture on the page was ready, I gave a coat of white gesso and took my pigment powders and water mister to add colors to the background.<br />
I have used bright pink, bottle green, Teal and burnt umber pigment powders from Niro Craft (an India Brand).<br />

The colors were a choice keeping mothers day, femininity, lively, colorful in mind! I hope you get what I am saying. I wanted the page to reflect life though I had to bring in the brown as I am a big time Vintage lover!<br />

The focal image is a printout and I have distressed the edges. The same has been mounted on top of white gauze and I have created a layer so that a tag can be inserted on the right top corner.<br />

The embellishment for this page the stamped flower using the Tim Holtz stamp and I have colored using DI.<br />
