Faux Wood bark!

Hello Crafters,
A warm welcome to all of you.  I love nature inspired challenges and this time for the challenge at Rhedd's Creative Spirit, I have one that screams nature!
The theme at Rhedd's is always Mixed media or altered art and here I am with another altered chocolate box!

Textures and techniques is something I love to work with and here's is what happened after my experiments!

I am not getting into the details of the making, let’s just jump start… READY TO WALK THE WOODS with me??
Here we go…
Firstly, created the bark texture on the wood with masking tape and homemade texture paste. The impatient wait over night was fruitful..lots of texture, cracks, grooves appeared! I gave it the wood color with acrylics.
Once happy, went hunting for the pic.I found this vintage pic of these girls and thought would be the perfect fit for the woods!

I used matt gel to embed the pic into the wood bark and started to work on the embellishment.
The lovely vintage butterfly is from the mariposa paper pack, I fuzzy cut it and applied Rock candy, Distress crackle paint and waiting for the magic cracks to appear!

It did…and I rubbed vintage photo into the cracks and it just aged beautifully…love it!

The flowers and leaves are all hand made using various dies and give a lovely feel to this box!

The inside of the box is lined with some pattern paper, lace and more flowers and some tiny tags too!

Well, that's your walk thru the woods, hope you had a good scroll and drop by at our blog to see the inspirations and don't forget to join in.

I am on a small break, vacation time here and will see at the other side of my holidays. Hope you all have a great time too.
Until my next creative journey,
Happy crafting and recycling,
Cheers
