House of Charms and an Announcement!

Hello Crafters,
Have another news to share with you…Am joining the wonderful group of ladies of ABAC! Oh yes! I am pinching myself..some amazing talent here and loots of fun!
There is still a week left ,so come and play along!
So, what is it this month??? STEAMPUNK…yes! Oh my…I have not done this till date and a genre I never thought I would! This is the advantage of being in the DT…you have to come out of your comfort zone and am glad I did…cos I was doing it, I realized I was enjoying it!

So, don’t think…just jump start. If I can, you can.
For beginners like me in this genre…here’s what I did.
This time around, I played with an empty tin! Have quite a few of them now. My layman knowledge about Steam punk is metallic and  mechanical elements in simple language.
So this is what I did…hunt my entire house for small mechanical stuff like bolts, nuts, washers, spring a and so on…believe me I searched all nooks and crannies I wouldn’t have otherwise looked at and yes, I was lucky! This are all I found and glued it on the lid!
Then I went about adhering kitchen foil on the lid and slowly pressing out the impression…this is the fun part! It is magical see the impression coming out, as I was doing it I scrunched the foil so it formed a natural texture. The same with the base of the tin too!

Now, the part outdoors…yes I used a black acrylic spray to liberally color the tin. This just got over in 5 mins and it was still damp, I dusted the gold mica powder and here you see the lovely textured tin with the golden hue! Lovely eh?
How can I not embellish it…even if it is Steam punk!!! I got this lovely imege of a lady from the net and she fit in so beautifully on the lid . I gave her a lovely frame with a metallic chain which has an antique key hanging on one end.
The flower( I can’t do without it) is from TH tattered florals and had the edges heat embossed with gold and lovely gold rose as the center. A lovely tribute to the lady!

The inside of the tine is lined with this lovely vintage floral PP from DCWV and look what’s inside…my collection of metal charms. Finally they have a house and lady to take care!!!
That’s it…am done! The shortest post from me I guess, I told you it was easy…so go ahead and play along!
Thank you so much for stopping by and would love to hear from you about my first STEAMPUNK creation!
I would love to have my lady enter these challenges!
