PRICELESS...Pink!

Good morning!
Welcome to my page today!
It’s the first of September already and I am back with my project for Rhedd’sCreative Spirit. The theme is always “anything goes”, MIXED MEDIA or ALTERED ART only!
This time I am here to show you a cute little project I made for a 7yesr old client! Yes...you heard me right...This princess wanted a treasure box...all PINK!
A very difficult color choice for me to work on but I had to please the client, lol!
The best part was I had the freedom to do my re cycling bit and play around in this project...and I must say, I had a blast!
I dished out an empty liquor carton from my stash and started working on the layout to make a horizontal opening and went about making it strong to be handled by a 7rs old and that too on a daily basis.
I covered the top of the lid with crushed tissue for texture. Once dry, painted with green acrylic paint and highlighted the texture with pink metallic paste.
I chose these lovely papers from Bob and Betty (Ornate Anne)...just gorgeous...pink roses! I could almost visualize the kids excitement...well not yet, lol!
Once this was stuck on the outside of the box, I fixed a handle which I had spray painted in silver. Some pink twine to add color to the handle too!
For the closure I have used velcro dots so that it can be opened and closed easily by a kid and pink buttons, lol!
Then for the top embellishments, I couldn’t think of anything but PINK flowers! Oh my...I am thinking pink...yes!
I made these lace flowers and then sprayed worn lipstick DI and had them in a cluster on the top. This I knew would catch her attention!
The inside of the box has been lined with pattern paper too and I have made 3 compartments so that the kid can organize her daily treasures.
A little quote for the girl on the inside lid and I was done.
I also spray painted some bottle caps in silver. These little feet gave the box some height and character!
Just yesterday I had this picked up by the little client and the joy on her face said it all. She had me write her name on top of the lid in PINK...PRICELESS!
Thank you so much for stopping by and do play along this month and take time to see the DT creations too.
Until my next creative journey,
Happy crafting and recycling.
Cheers.
