Hello Crafters,
It's the month of Love and I have an altered layout to share with you today which is very "special" to me cos it captures some candid moments between a brother and sister.
Yes, we had been for a family valentine dinner last week and this magical moment happened. Before telling you more about that, I need to share a bit about myself...I have 2 kids, a son and a daughter.
My son is a child with special needs and is 14yrs old and my daughter is all of 4yrs old!
As we were having dinner, we had this lovely moment...my daughter hops onto my sons wheelchair and lays her head on his chest and he in turn, had the most wonderful expression! I am soooo happy we could capture that and I wanted to frame that memory FOREVER!
The layout had to be different and decided to go with a style which is new to me...mixed media and shabby chic. The color palette is all muted and has white wash effect. It is a heart coming out of the roll...which is all distressed, torn and curled. The base PP is handmade, using TCW- mini flowers stencil and distress inks. I have used the color palette from the Indian flag(blue, green, orange and white)...Thanks to a few challenges who din't want the reds and pinks!
There are peeks of orange where the PP is torn and have used Kaisercraft gears stencil and green acrylic paste to randomly create texture . The edges of the curls are all whitewashed with gesso and the corners have the ornate corner from Joycrafts.
I have created 2 mats for the photographs using denim cloth( torn from an old pair of jeans), frayed the edges and whitewashed it in patches using jesso. A cherry lynn doily(DL101), heavily inked in green and flowers made from cheery lynn Shasta die(B310) and sunflower die(DL121)(inked with green and orange distress inks) and the feathers(B369) complete the photo embellishment.
A few handmade roses and mums using Tim Holtz tattered florals die, gives dimension to the base of the curl.
There are random "love" stamped on the white heart which has branches and leaves on it...a few random sentiments too are stamped on the LO.
The header is partly stamped and partly hand written...The top part of the Lo is in orange and I have used the TCW mini bricks stencil and acrylic paste to give some texture.
That's pretty much the layout and hope to frame it soon.
Thank you so much for stopping by and do let me know your views on this Layout.
This Lo is for all you lovely "mommies" out there and would love to dedicate this to "sibling love"...
