Handmade card and Envelope

I love crafting with recycled materials and one of my top favourites is the corrugated cardboard!
So for the Catchy challenge...
I decided to work with my good old fav corrugated cardboard and paper scraps that i had. I am planning to meet my friend from school days after a really looong time and so i thought i will make this opportunity to make a small note card for her with a matching envelope.
Next i decided on the colors...since the CC is naturally textured and brown...i decided to have a mix of bright colors like purple, pink and light blue.

I first made a tag with the sentiment "friends forever" from We R Memory Keepers.I then mounted the tag on to a mini card in purple and now the entire card measured a perfect 3X3.

Next, for the envelope i thought it should not be the regular one from cardstock and that is when i decided to go with the same color scheme of the card and voila! the birth of the corrugated cardboard envelope!!! I rubbed the walnut stain ink pad directly on the CC to give it the worn out look.I just loved myself for the idea but was a little skeptical how it will look.Nevertheless, went ahead with my turned out to be just fab. What say???

Since the CC is heavily textured i thought the embelishments wshould be light and the idea of a "stamp sentiment" came to my mind.

I again made layers just like the tag and stamped the sentiment"Hello old friend" from whimsy stamps. Just like the regular mail stamp,i mounted this one too on the right hand corner of the envelope and added little blue bling on the front and back to match the butterfly! To the flap i fixed a purple button die cut with a pink bow and the note card just slipped in snugly into the envelope.

I loved making this for my friend, thanks for the opportunity and hope my friend likes it too.

I am playing along for the catchy
